PairPlay is a concept for cooperative iOS games designed for young children to play together — side-by-side or over live video.Instead of competition, timers, or scores, PairPlay games are built around shared progress. Each child has their own role, and moving forward requires patience, communication, and teamwork. Some games focus on memory, matching, or pattern recognition. Others involve unlocking paths or helping a character move forward. No one can finish alone and no one is left behind.
Two kids start the same game at the same time. Each has their own character on the screen.A gate blocks the path forward. To open it, both players need to remember matching symbols. The cards appear briefly, then flip and shuffle. Each child looks for their match. One finds theirs quickly. The other takes more time. The gate doesn’t open until both have their key — so the first player waits, and helps by describing what they remember. When both keys are found, the gate opens and the characters move forward together. No one wins. No one loses.
The game continues. The focus stays on helping, waiting, and moving forward together.
Every PairPlay game follows this idea:
progress only happens together.
